Highfurlong Brook Viaduct
Name: Highfurlong Brook Viaduct
Product used: Titan Support
Location: Banbury
Project Background:
The Highfurlong Brook Viaduct in Banbury, is an important part of the infrastructure required for a stretch of the HS2 national railway project to allow safe passage over the High Furlong brook. The structure spans over 163m in length and stands at 6m high and was constructed with 2 Abutments and 6 piers, all of which required our expertise and innovative solutions.
Upon securing the project, we collaborated closely with Lorclon and EKFB to develop specialist designs tailored to the needs of the project. Our comprehensive design service entailed input from numerous expert designers within our infrastructure team from the start and saw intricate design alterations requested by the clients within strict timelines during the project.
The project required an array of our solutions, including our Titan Support System, Parapet Platforms, Universal Soldiers, Edge Protection System, Alufix and NoeTop wall formwork systems. All of which worked seamlessly in conjunction with each other to provide the client with a simple and highly effective solution.
A large amount of the Titan Support system was used throughout the construction as this system’s lightweight nature and high load capacity provided the ideal solution to create support for the placement of the precast beams over 7 spans.
