July 19, 2023International Women In Engineering Day 2023
As a company that values diversity and inclusion, we are proud to support International Women in Engineering Day. This day of recognition is dedicated to celebrating the amazing contributions that women have made and continue to make in the engineering sector.
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue their passions and achieve their goals, regardless of gender. By supporting this international day, we hope to encourage more women to pursue careers in this exciting and important field.
Additionally, we would like to extend our gratitude to all the hardworking female employees of the Ischebeck Titan Group of Companies. We appreciate their significant contributions and dedication to our company. Thank you for all that you do!

To get an insight into what it's like being a woman in engineering, we asked one of our longest-standing female engineers, Michele Glover, for a few words on her experience of being an engineer and how she's personally found being in the industry.
"I didn’t really choose to be an engineer, as such, I attended sixth-form college and didn’t enjoy it, so I looked at apprenticeships available at the time, I knew I wanted to work with computers and have always had a keen eye for design and drawing (designed many tree houses as a young girl) and this apprenticeship came available and it sounded amazing, interesting and very different.
I have seen huge changes in engineering and construction over the years, from technology and design to designing and implementing new equipment. Ischebeck has always been very innovative, and I had the pleasure of supporting and designing one of the 1st cladding Screen jobs. I love designing complicated projects! I've also seen a positive change towards females working within the industry, don’t get me wrong I have had a fair few comments in the past. But in this day and age, they have become few and far between.
My advice to any other woman considering a career in engineering is to BE BOLD, be different, and do something exciting, and don’t follow the norm.....no 2 days are the same. I love trying to explain what I do for a living, as no one fully understands unless you’re in the formwork and falsework game."
Our Group Strategy Director, Shirley Hutchinson has also issued the following statement on International Women In Engineering day.
“On this International Women in Engineering Day, as a female director of a company in the engineering sector, I am immensely proud of the remarkable female engineers we employ.
Being a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, I am honoured to be a part of the senior team of such an innovative company and proud of the talented engineers and all our staff who work tirelessly to make Ischebeck Titan the great company it is today.
As we celebrate this important day, let us remember that our journey as women in the engineering industry, is not just about breaking glass ceilings; it is about building bridges for future generations.
To all the aspiring female engineers, or anyone else with a passion for an industry, I encourage you to chase your dreams and work hard for where you want to be in all walks of life.
Let us continue to inspire, empower, and uplift one another, knowing that our collective achievements will shape a world where equality and innovation thrive.”
